We spent only half a day in Zion and Bryce Canyon. There is much more to see and to hike but we typically had not enough time, although the weather was pretty nice. Via Salt Lake City we drove directly to Yellowstone national park. Yellowstone was one of the first national parks in the world, and is known for its many geothermal hot springs, the wildlife and geysers. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is dominant. Before we entered the park we checked our Email and look – there was an Email from Tritzi with an invitation to a big “party” in Seattle, but we come back to that later…

When we arrived in Fishing Bridge, which is 7.900 feet (2.400m) high it was very cold and we had to prepare our soup in the middle of a little snow storm. We scrabbled into our sleeping bags in the fleece inlay, put our blanket above and in some way we could defend the freezing temperatures outside. But it was a romantic night with the howling wolves and the screaming wind outside of our campground. And there was always a scary feeling when you had to get to the toilet in the middle of the knight, because it  c o u l d  b e  that a bear suddenly appears. After all we were armed with a small knife and a bear pepper spray ;-)
In the following days we spotted mooses, deers, elks, a beaver and other wildlife. More pictures in “See Us!
